Statement of Faith
-
We believe the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God. It is without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13)
-
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: co-eternal in being; co-identical in nature; co-equal in power and glory. They have the same attributes and perfections. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
-
We believe God the Father is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1-2; Hebrews 8:10-18)
-
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. We believe that His blood cleanses us from sin. (1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; John 1:12; Luke 1:35; Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:11-12; John 2:14)
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believe in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide, who seals believers unto the day of redemption.
(John 16:8-11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14;
1 John 20:20-27; Ephesians 5:18)
-
We believe that a Christian should live with the help of the Holy Spirit, for the glory of God and well being of his fellowmen; that his conduct should be blameless before the world and that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (Romans 6:13; Roman 8:12-13; Galatians 5:16-25)
-
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God. However, in Adam's sin the race fell. The human race then inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. We further believe that man is totally depraved, and of himself is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12; Romans 3:22-23)
-
We believe that Satan is a personal being, the author of sin and the cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:2-11, 25:41; Revelation 20:10)
-
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to men by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
-
We believe it is the obligation of Christians to witness by life and word to the truth of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the gospel to all mankind. (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-29; Matthew 28:19-20)
-
We believe that God, according to His will, bestows all His spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit for the equipping of the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Corinthians 13:8-10; Romans 12:3; Romans 6:8; 2 Corinthians 12:7-11; Ephesians 4:7-12)
-
We believe in the universal church, a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. (1 Cor. 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:25-27; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Acts 14:27; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-42; Acts 18:8)
-
We believe that every human being has direct relations with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that each church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority that therefore church and state must be kepty separate as having different functions each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other. (Ephesians 5:24; 1 Peter 3:22 (Galatians 5:13; John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 33-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:5; Romans 13:13-14; Titus 2:1-15)
-
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth and the establishment of His Kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body and endless suffering of the wicked. (1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Mark 9:45-48; Revelation 20:1-15; John 11:25-26; Luke 23:42; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Luke 16:19-20; Revelation 19:11-16; Zech. 14:4-11; John 5:28-29; Matthew 25:41-46)
-
We believe that God does hear and answer the prayer of faith, according to His own will. (John 15:7; 1 John 5:14-15)
-
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-24; Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:26-39)
